First-floor addition to a Federation-era residence in Hawthorn, addressing a series of unsympathetic prior alterations.

The design re-establishes the original proportions and architectural language, allowing the new works to read as a cohesive extension of the existing dwelling while reducing the visual impact of earlier modifications.

The addition provides new bedroom and living spaces, with feature elements such as an arched window and window seat contributing to the character of the upper level.
